The new destination of the South, Davao City is only an hour-and-twenty five minute plane ride away from Manila , and about forty-five minutes away from Cebu City , the major gateway of the Visayas. The world's largest metropolis is blessed with various natural attractions like Mt. Apo , the highest mountain peak in the Philippines. And, culture-oriented travelers will be enchanted by the villages of the T'boli, Yakan and Mandaya tribes, considered to be among the oldest ethnic groups in the Philippines.
Located in the Gulf of Davao is the Samal group of Islands, and archipelago consisting of nine islands which stretch out over a land area of 28,000 hectares. Samal is a beautiful, tranquil and exotic island with a coastline bedecked with white sand beaches, abundant marine life, rock formations, and mangroves. and landscape elements which include coconut and other fruit-bearing trees, flowering plants and other lush vegetation.
Nestled on the quiet west side of Samal Island . a mere 40-minute boat ride away from the city is the Pearl Farm Beach Resort. Located by a hillside cliff covered with lush vegetation as a backdrop the resort offers its guests - well facilities and modern amenities in an exotic environment.
Accomodations.
Pearl Farm began operations in December 1992. The resort's deluxe accommodations include (19) Samal Houses, which are designed after the stilt houses of the seafaring Samal Tribe of the Sulu Archipelago, from which one can see through the crystal clear water and watch schools of tropical fish swim through coral formations. The resort also offers rooms in the Balay Houses, on the hilltop, which open onto a veranda overlooking the beach. And at the other end of the cove are (6) luxurious, two-storied, Muslim-inspired Samal Suites. All the rooms are designed to preserve the ethnicity of its surroundings, while at the same time are fully air-conditioned and stocked with modern amenities to ensure a pleasurable stay for our guests' discriminating taste.
Facilities. Savor the magnificent sunset while enjoying cocktails at the Parola Bar, also the perfect setting for a delightfully romantic wedding. Our staff will be please to make arrangements for either a traditional or tribal wedding ceremony.
For a taste of fresh seafood and exotic fruits, one can visit the resort's Maranao Pavilion and feast on the best of local and international cuisines. Savour exotic delights while viewing our magnificent swimming pool, gleaming in changing nuance of blue, from turquoise to aquamarine.
For those who want to take home memories from their enchanting trip to the Pearl Farm, local treasures are available at our Butik which offers a variety of local handicrafts, native outfits and even the latest in trendy beachwear. Watch the fascinating Mandaya tribeswomen as they skillfully weave their traditionally exotic and colorful handbags, mats, clothing and other ornamentation.
Pleasure aside, the resort offers (2) Function Rooms with excellent facilities designed to allow total concentration necessary for power meetings and conferences. Arrangements can be made to accommodate up to (80) persons.
For the sports enthusiast, tennis courts are available both during the day or at night. The resort also offers a wide range of water sports activities including wave runners, wind surfing, water polo, jet skiing, and scuba diving.
The Pearl Farm's attractions go much deeper than surface delights. Two sunken World War II Japanese vessels await visits from scuba divers, just 60 meters away from the resort. Saved by the owners from the ravages of dynamite fishing, the whole seafront has been cleaned, corals have been re-planted and fish have been fed with loving care. Marine life has been protected and nurtured over the past years, and the area surrounding the resort has been declared a marine sanctuary.
One does not really have to be a water sports enthusiast to enjoy a relaxing swim at the resort's swimming pool or to bask beneath the manmade waterfalls which flow into a lagoon. A quiet walk along the white sandy beaches or among the rich indigenous flora would be just as pleasurable.
For the honeymooners looking for total privacy, Pearl Farm offers the ideal hideaway in Malipano Island where couples can spend the day by themselves. Island-hopping trips and city tours may also be arranged at your request.
Pearl Farm also offers a variety of exciting theme parties such as the Night of the Sultan, Pirate Night, Barrio Fiesta, and a whole lot more.
Indeed, the Pearl Farm Beach Resort is a tropical paradise; an idyllic retreat waiting to be discovered in the beautiful island of Samal.
